Grace Darling C of E Primary School is proud to offer a comprehensive Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) provision across our dedicated Early Years Centre and our main Primary campus.

2-Year Old Provision

  • 15 hours free childcare or early education for 38 weeks for 2-year old children and their families who receive some forms of support.

To be able to take up 15 hours of free childcare for your two-year-old you must meet the eligibility criteria. Please visit GOV.UK for further information.

We offer 2 year old provision in either a morning or afternoon session (15 hours a week) at our Early Years Centre.

Morning session times: 8.30am – 11.30am
Afternoon session times: 12.30pm – 3.30pm

Nursery

All children age 3 and 4 are entitled to a 15 hours nursery session.

We offer a morning nursery session 8.30am – 11.30am or an afternoon session from 12.15pm – 3.15pm (Children start the term after their third birthday).

We also offer 30 hours provision which is available for nursery age children (3 and 4 years old) who meet the criteria. This is for working families in England. The offer is:

  • 30 hours of free childcare or early education for 38 weeks
  • A total of 1,140 hours per year, that you can use flexibly with one or more childcare provider

30 hours is available for nursery age children, who meet the criteria.

30 hour provision session times: 8.30am – 2.30pm (parents/carers can pay for an extra hour until 3.30pm if desired)

Reception

We have two Reception classes for children who will have their 5th birthday in that academic year. Our school day begins at 8.45am and ends at 3.15pm on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday, with a 2.00pm finish on a Wednesday.
